Never Leave a Candle Unattended
  • Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or before sleeping.
  • Confirm that the ember on the wick is no longer glowing before walking away.
Secure the Placement
  • Use a stable, heat-resistant surface for your candles.
  • Keep candles away from flammable items such as curtains, papers, or furniture.
  • Avoid high-traffic areas to reduce the risk of accidental tipping.
Trim the Wick Before Lighting
  • A wick trimmed to 1/8–1/4 inch promotes an even, clean burn.
  • Use a wick trimmer to avoid soot buildup and keep the flame under control.
Monitor Burn Time
  • Limit continuous burning to four hours to prevent overheating.
  • Allow candles to cool for two hours before relighting to preserve the wax and container.
Avoid Drafts
  • Position candles away from vents, fans, and air currents to prevent uneven burning, excessive smoke, or sooting.
Keep Out of Reach of Children and Pets
  • Ensure candles are placed in areas inaccessible to children and pets to avoid accidental burns or knocks.
Extinguish Candles Safely
  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame without splattering wax.
  • Avoid blowing out candles forcefully, which can create smoke and spread hot wax.
  • Never use water to extinguish candles; it may cause the container to crack or the wax to splatter.
Maximize Candle Life
  • Keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches, and debris to ensure a clean burn.
  • Rotate stored candles occasionally to prevent uneven wax distribution.
  • Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or harsh indoor lighting.
Practice Proper Maintenance
  • For jar candles, stop using them when 1/2 inch of wax remains to avoid overheating and container breakage.
  • If the flame smokes, flickers, or grows too high, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and allow it to cool before relighting.
